Literacy Day observed in Narsingdi district
NARSINGDI, Sept 8, 2019 (BSS) – The International Literacy Day-2019 was
observed today in Narsingdi district as elsewhere in the country in a
befitting manner.
“Literacy and Multilingualism” is this year’s theme which means literacy in
many languages will guarantee a better life.
A rally led by Deputy Commissioner of the district Syeda Farhana Kaiwnine
paraded from collectorate office premises to Shilpakala Academy.
A good number of people from different government and private
organisations and students participated in procession.
After the rally, a discussion was held at Shilpakala Academy with
Additional Deputy commissioner (general) Tanbir Mohammad Azim in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Shoshuma Sultana attended the discussion
meeting as the chief guest.
At the discussion, speakers said the government is working relentlessly to
improve education system of the country and improve literacy rate to turn
every citizen of the country into a human resource.
