Maritime Ports asked to continue hosting signal no 3

DHAKA, Sept 08, 2019 (BSS) – Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three as squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports.

A low was seen over north Odisha-Gangetic West Bengal coast and adjoining, according to a met office weather bulletin on yesterday.

Under its influence steep pressure gradient persists over North Bay, squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, the bulletin added.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
