Western Asian Youth Chess begins

DHAKA, Sept 6, 2019 (BSS)- The Western Asian Youth Chess Championships U-
20,18,16,14,12,10,8,6 (open and girls) has began today at Hotel Tivoli Resort
in the Indian capital of New Delhi.

Berik Balgabaev, Advisor to the FIDE president, formally inaugurated the
meet as the chief guest.

In the first round game, CM Manon Reja Neer won against Adalja Vanssh of
India in Open Under-12, Ahmed Walijah got walk-over against Vysetty Sahithi
of India in girls’ U-16, Sakline Mostafa Sajid won against Adhiraj Binyani of
India in open U-8, Warsia Khusbu won against Mahadev Rushita Haju of India in
girls’ U-8, Wadifa Ahmed split point with Gargi Khtri of India in girls’ U-14
and Jannatul Ferdousi split point with Sevitha Viju of India in girls U-12.

Meanwhile, Nayem Haque, WCM Noshin Anjum, Kazi Zarin Tasnim, Swarnavo
Choudhury, SM Abir Hossain and Arisha Hossin Tuba lost their first round
games.
