Summer Hit Open Carrom tournament begins
DHAKA, Sept 6, 2019 (BSS)- The Summer Hit Open Carrom tournament began
today (Friday) at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
Superintendent of Tourist Police Ashrafur Rahman formally inaugurated the
three-day meet as the chief guest while Bangladesh Carrom Federation general
secretary Ashraf Ahmed Leon was present as special guest.
A total of 52 players– 40 men and 12 women– are taking part in the
tournament.
National carrom men’s champion Hemayet Mollah and women’s champion
Shamsunnahar Maksuda are taking part in the tournament.
Ashrafur Rahman said carrom is a popular game and the federation already
took the game to the international level. The tourist police took part in the
national championship and hoped that it would continue its participation of
the entire tournament, organised by the carrom federation.
