Junior Tigers off to flying start in U19 Asia Cup

CHATTOGRAM, September 6, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Under-19 team made a good
start to the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, beating United Arab Emirates (UAE) by six
wickets at Katunayake in Sri Lanka on Friday.

Being sent to bat first, UAE was bowled out for 127 in just 28 overs with
Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rakibul Hasan claiming three wickets apiece for
Bangladesh. Shoriful Islam bagged 2-16.

Osama Hasan was the highest scorer for UAE with 58 while Alishan Sharafu
made 34. Apart from the duo, no one could reach double digit figure for UAE.

Bangladesh, however, reached the target with ease, making 128-4 in 21.3
overs.

Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon shared 62 in their opening stand to
lay the platform, standing on which they comfortably overhauled the target,
albeit with some hiccup.

Tanzid was the highest scorer for the side with 45 while Emon made 30.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy was not out on 27.
