Son of Italy comic, M5S founder in rape probe: press
ROME, Sept 6, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – The son of Italian stand-up comedian Beppe
Grillo, who founded the anti-establishment Five Star Movement, is being
investigated along with three other teenagers for rape, media reported Friday.
A 19-year-old Scandinavian has accused Ciro Grille, also 19, and his
friends of raping her in his father’s summer villa in southern Italy after a
night out in a disco, La Stampa daily said.
The youngsters insist the sexual relations were consensual, it said, adding
that a video of the incident found on one of their telephones was not
considered as conclusive.
The Five Star M5S is part of Italy’s governing coalition and the rape probe
coincides with a return to front-line politics for Beppe Grillo after pushing
for his party to join forces with the centre-left.
