70,790 dengue patients returned home after treatment

DHAKA, Sep 5, 2019 (BSS) – A big number of dengue patients are returning home after the treatment as 70,790 dengue patients returned home after receiving treatment from various hospitals around the country.

According to Public Health Emergency Operation centre and Control Room’s report, from the beginning of this year till today, the number of dengue affected patients is 74,353 and 70,790 patients has returned home from hospitals. Almost 95 percent dengue patients, who have been admitted to hospitals across the country, have returned home after recovery.

A total of 3,371 dengue patients were currently admitted to different hospitals across the country. Among them, 1,729 were admitted in Dhaka while 1,642 were admitted in outside of Dhaka.

In last 24 hours, 1,005 dengue patients returned home after treatment across the country, said a press release today.

A total 788 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in last 24 hours.
In Dhaka, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals was 331 and the figure was 457 outside the capital in the last 24 hours. Besides, the number of newly infected patients has dropped by 4 percent, added the release.

According to DGHS release in the last 24 hours, 63 patients were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, 33 to Mitford Hospital, 11 to Dhaka Shishu Hospital, 33 to Shaheed Suhrawardy hospital, 22 to BSMMU, 5 to Rahjarbagh Police Hospital, 57 to Mugda Medical College Hospital, 4 to Combined Military Hospital and 14 to Kurmitola General Hospital .

Besides, 107 new patients were admitted to Dhaka Division (except Dhaka city), 63 to Chattogram Division, 131 to Khulna Division, 16 to Rangpur Division, 51 to Rajshahi Division, 62 to Barishal Division, 5 to Sylhet Division and 22 to Mymensingh Division, said the release.

So far 57 people have died from dengue till now.
