DHAKA, Sept 05, 2019 (BSS) – The 10th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Bangladesh at Dhaka University (DU) was celebrated today.
Student Counseling and Guidance Office of DU organised a programme marking the Day at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on DU campus.
Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Secretary General of Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation John May, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation A K Shamsuddin Khan, Member Rizwan Bin Farooq and Award Leader Mizanur Rahman also addressed the programme with Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Office of DU Prof. Dr. Mahjabeen Haque in the chair.
Thanking the authorities of Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation for giving awards to DU students, DU VC Akhtaruzzaman said, “DU students have been highly benefited and encouraged by this programme. The award is playing an important role to develop communication and management skills as well as behavior and attitude of the students.”
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Bangladesh is a youth development programme which teaches soft skills to youths.
