Korea Cup Taekwondo begins in city
DHAKA, Sept 5, 2019 (BSS) – The Korea Cup Taekwondo championship has begun today (Thursday) at National Sports Council gymnasium in the city.
State Minister for Information Murad Hasan MP formally opened the three-day meet as the chief guest, jointly patronized by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF) and South Korean Embassy to Dhaka.
Korean Embassy to Dhaka’s deputy chief of mission (councilor) Kim Cheol-Sang and Youth and Sports Secretary Dr Jafar Uddin were present as the special guests.
BTF president Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal and BTF general Mahmudul Islam Rana presided over the opening ceremony.
A total of 600 taekwondo players from different districts, associations, corporations, schools, colleges and universities from across the country are taking part in the meet.
Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim MP is expected to present on the closing day Saturday (September 7) of the competition and distribute the prizes.
Korean Embassy to Dhaka’s Ambassador Hu Kang-il and Youth and Sports Secretary Dr Jafar Uddin were present there as the special guests.
