Three players share lead in rating chess
DHAKA, Sept 3, 2019 (BSS)- FM Md Saif Uddin and CM Sohel Chowdhury of Titas Club and Md Sultan Ahmed Sajib of BUET are sharing lead in the points table with seven points after 8th or penultimate round games of Metropolis FIDE Rating Chess Tournament (below-2100 rating) now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Masum Hossain of Shahin Chess Club and Shawket Bin Osman (Shaon) of Mir Chess Club following the leaders closely with 6.5 points each.
Nine players are sharing the third position with six points. They are WIM Rani Hamid of Fire Service and Civil Defense, Sk. Rashedul Hasan of Shahin Chess Club, Sagar of Bangladesh Navy, Mohammed Enayet Hossain of Khelaghor Daba Sangah, Gopalganj, Shafiqul Islam of Access Chess Club, Anisujjaman Mullick, Zoar Haque Prodhan, Syed Abdul Zaker and Md Nurul Islam.
In the 8th or penultimate round games were held on today (Tuesday), FM Lavlu beat Shaon, CM Sohel split point with Masum, Sajib beat Anis, Rashed split point with Sagar, Ataur Rahman drew with CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed, Shafiq beat Abu Hanif, Abdul Momin split point with Manjur Alam, WImj Rani Hamid beat Kazi Taherul Islam, Enayet beat Mohammad Shakil, Zoar beat M Zahirul Islam, Zaker beat AKM Kamruzzaman and Nurul beat Ahmed Jahangir Babu.
