DHAKA, Sept 3, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today set December 3 for
submitting probe report in a case filed against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda
Zia and three others for allegedly killing 42 persons by setting them on fire
during nationwide blockade programme called by BNP-Jamaat alliance in 2015.
Today was fixed for submitting the report, but Gulshan Police Station
officer-in-charge (OC) failed to submit the report. Dhaka Metropolitan
Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain then set new date to submit the report.
The other three accused are Barrister Rafikul Islam Miah, Prof Emazuddin
Ahmed and Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury. Jananetri Parishad president AB Siddiqui
filed the case against four on February 2, 2015, with the court of Dhaka
Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqur Rahman. The court at that time had asked the
Gulshan OC to probe the case and submit the report.
