Afghans in Bangladesh for one-off Test and Tri-nation series

DHAKA, August 30, 2019 (BSS) – Afghanistan, led by new captain Rashid Khan arrived in Bangladesh on Friday to play one-off Test match and a tri-nation T20 series.

After landing at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 9:30 am, they went straight to Chittagong by boarding another flight.

They will play a one-off Test against the hosts Bangladesh, scheduled to start from September 5 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

They however start their tour in Bangladesh with a two-day practice match against BCB XI, slated to begin on October 1 at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.

Bangladesh team however will reach Chittagong on October 1 also.

The Tigers will be looking to bounce back in winning-way after a disappointing World Cup that was followed by a humiliating 3-0 whitewash at the hands of Sri Lanka in an ODI series.

The one-off Test will be followed by a triangular T20I series featuring hosts Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Afghanistan, starting from September 13.
