Lightning kills farmer in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Aug 29, 2019 (BSS) – An elderly farmer was killed in an incident
of lightning in a crop field at Boiratihat village of Mithapukur upazila in
the district today.
The deceased was identified as Tushar Kanti, 65, of nearby village Piyar
Majhipara in Mirjapur union of the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mithaoukur Thana Md Jafar Ali said Tushar Kanti
was killed on the spot after a thunderbolt struck him while he was cutting
grass for his cattle heads there amid inclement weather.
“The body of the deceased person was handed over to relatives,” the OC
added.
