Nonagenarian lawyer Alimullah Chowdhury passes away
CHATTOGRAM, Aug 29, 2019 (BSS)- Sheikh Alimullah Chowdhury, a nonagenarian lawyer, died of old-age complications at a clinic here this morning at the age of 93.
Alimullah Chowdhury, father of former president of Chattogram District Bar Association Advocate Iftakher Saimul Chowdhury, law affairs secretary of Chattogram city Chapter unit of Bangladesh Awami League, left behind his three sons, five daughters and a host relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
The first namaz-e-janaza of Alimullah Chowdhury was held at Chattogram court premises at 2 pm and second Namaz-e-janaza was held at Railway School premises after Asr Prayers.
He will be buried at his family graveyard at Bariakhali village under Mirsari upazila after Juma Prayers tomorrow.
In separate condolence massages, Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Chattogram city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, Chairman of Chattogram Development Authority Jahirul Alam Dobas and Vice President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Reaz Haider Chowdhury expressed profound shock at the death of Alim Uddin Chowdhury.
They also conveyed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
