BNP has no alternative to path of intrigue: Quader

DHAKA, Aug 28, 2019 (BSS) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said BNP has no alternative to taking the path of conspiracy in politics.

“They (BNP men) are gradually getting involved in crimes. As a result, they are getting isolated. And that’s why they have no way in politics without the path of conspiracy,” he told a discussion in the capital.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) organised the meeting on its campus, marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.

Speaking as the chief guest, Quader said BNP is now looking for new issues to hatch plots against the government.

Being failed in normal politics, BNP has now taken the path of conspiracy, he said, adding BNP is using the Rohingya issue as a political tool to put the government in trouble.

Mentioning that some international NGOs are hatching conspiracy indirectly over the Rohingya issue, he said: “The NGOs are cooperating with Myanmar. Among those, there are some pro-Pakistan NGOs. They have given shelter to the killers of Bangabandhu. They want to put us in trouble at every step.”

Quader, also Awami League General Secretary, said steps are underway to bring the killers of Bangabandhu back home from Canada and the United States, but Pakistan is not extraditing two of the killers.

Criticising BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, he said when the August, the month of mourning, approaches, Fakhrul becomes unruly in politics.

Now it is proved in conventional courts and the courts of the history and public that BNP men were the masterminds behind the August 15 carnage and the August 21 grenade attack.

The AL general secretary said BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind behind the killings of Bangabandhu and his family members.

About dengue situation, he said there is no reason to think that dengue situation is now under control, but all should remain prepared round-the-year to prevent dengue.

Chaired by BSMMU Vice Chancellor Prof Kanak Kanti Barua, the discussion was addressed, among others, by Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) President Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, its Secretary General Dr Md Ehteshamul Huq Choudhury, Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (Swachip) President Prof Dr Iqbal Arslan, its Secretary General Prof Dr MA Aziz and BSMMU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research & Development) Prof Dr Md Shahidullah Sikder.
