CID Chief Shafiq made new DMP commissioner
DHAKA, Aug 28, 2019 (BSS)- The government today appointed Additional Inspector General of Police (Addi.IGP) and chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Mohammad Shafiqul Islam as the commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
According to a circular issued by the Home Ministry, the government appointed Mohammad Shafiqul Islam as the DMP Commissioner since its incumbent commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Miah will go on retirement after ending his one month contract.
Besides, the Addi.IGP (HRM) of the Police Headquarters Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun posted to CID as its chief.
In the same circular, the government gave current charges to Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) of the SB Biswas Afzal Hossain and Md Mahbub Hossain as Addi.IGP and posted them to the Police Headquarters.
Earlier, Asaduzzaman Miah was scheduled to go on Post Retirement Leave (PRL) on August 13 last and later the government reappointed him at the same position for a month on contractual basis.
