Media support needed to make helpline 333 more effective

RAJSHAHI, Aug 28, 2019 (BSS) – District administration at a press
conference here today sought all-out supports of the media personnel for
reaching the benefits related messages of helpline 333 to the grassroots
population.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamidul Haque addressed the press conference held
at its conference hall as focal person saying anyone can dial helpline 333
from anywhere and receive information about government offices, officers and
get different social problems redressed.

He said the government has launched the helpline on April 12 last year with
a noble view to iving quick feedback to the public after receiving their
complaints against different social problems. But, many people have no idea
of the helpline and its benefits.

DC Haque added that the media both print and electronics have a vital role
in making the helpline related information more public so that they can
derive its total benefits.

He told the journalists that the district has, so far, received complaints
from 73,287 people including 8,365 females. Seventy percent of those are
child marriage related, he added.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Shariful Islam also
spoke on the occasion.
