Seventy three players win first round in Rating Chess
DHAKA, Aug 27, 2019 (BSS) – Seventy three players won their first round game and earned full points in the Metropolis FIDE Rating Chess tournament (below-2100 rating) that began today at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall room.
Earlier, FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), executive director and head of sports and welfare department of WALTON Group, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
Gazi Shayiful Tarique, vice president of Bangladesh Chess Federation presided over the opening ceremony.
Total 155 players below 2100 rated and unrated players including one woman international master, one FIDE master and four candidate masters are participating in the event.
The event is being held in 9 round Swiss-League system and top sixteen players will qualify to participate in the 45th National ‘B’ Chess Championship.
