DHAKA, August 27, 2019 (BSS) – Nurul Hasan Sohan expressed his utmost disappointment at not being included in the 35-member preliminary squad that was announced for the one-off Test against Afghanistan and subsequent tri-nation T20 series in which Zimbabwe is also involved with Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Though Sohan was not the regular member in national team, he is always in BCB’s consideration for which his exclusion even in the 35-member squad came as surprise.

“As a human being, in this sort of case, it is tough to motivate myself,” he said here on Tuesday. “It feels really bad especially when I was with the national team and also in good touch. But still I am trying to motivate myself.”

“Moreover if you want to be big player, you have to be strong mentally. That’s why I am trying not to allow this stuff to occupy me.”

Sohan however came in the practice session with the 35-member squad on Tuesday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium after chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu advised him to train with the team to keep him fit.

Sohan said he himself has also kept personal trainer to continue his training as he is not ready to give up any hopes at the age of just 26.

“I have kept personal trainer to train. For batting and wicket-keeping, I have different coach. I believe if I want to prolong my career I have to do everything myself. It is not about playing when and where but to have mental satisfaction with my own self. I personally want to give 100 personal for myself to be satisfied.”

“What is in my head to how to motivate myself to perform as I don’t have any headache with what anyone else says about me. My satisfaction is important. I will be happy if I can give my 100 percent and do my work properly.”
