Two jailed as Aedes larvae found in houses
DHAKA, August 26, 2019 (BSS) – A mobile court today sent two persons to
jail for three days after Aedes mosquito larvae were found at their houses
under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
A total of six mobile courts conducted different drives today in several
areas and sent the two persons to jail.
The mobile courts also warned six building owners of punitive actions.
A fine of Taka 60,000 was imposed to six house owners, said DNCC
information officer Uttam Kumer said.
Besides, owner of a restaurant ‘Sunami’ in Zigatola area was fined Taka
60,000.
DSCC visited a total of 10,720 houses and establishments of 36 wards under
‘combing operation’ where Aedes larvae were found at 298 houses and
establishments and other 5,000 buildings identified for favorable breeding
grounds for Aedes mosquitoes.
DNCC Mayor M Atiqul Islam today visited the activities of combing
operation in Mohammadpur area.
