MoU for renewable energy power plant tomorrow

DHAKA, Aug 26, 2019 (BSS) – A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between
North-West Power Generation Company Limited and China National Machinery
Import and Export Corporation will be signed tomorrow aims at implementing a
renewable energy power plant project.

Talking to BSS, Director (Public Relations) of Bangladesh Power
Development Board Saiful Hasan Chowdhury said the MoU will be signed tomorrow
at Hotel Inter Continental aimed at forming a Joint Venture Company (JVC).

“Later, the JVC will implement a renewable energy project to generate
renewable energy,” he said.

Saiful, however, said the Joint Venture Company would also finalise how
much megawatts power plant will be set up here.

Company secretary of North-West Power Generation Company Limited and
representative of China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation will
sign the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.

Prime Minister’s Energy Advisor Dr Towfiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury will witness
the MoU signing ceremony as the chief guest, while State Minister for Power,
Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid will present as the special guest.

Power division secretary Dr Ahmed Kaikaus will preside over the function.
