Youth held for spreading rumour in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, August 25, 2019 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested a youth from city’s Akbarshah area early today for his alleged
involvement in spreading rumour against the state.
ASP Mashakur Rahman, senior assistant director of Rapid Action Battalion
(RAB) 7, said arrested Rahidul Islam alias Rahat Kabir, 22, is the son of
Mohammad Taslim Uddin, hailed from Borhan Uddin upazila of Bhola district.
A case has been filed against the detainee with Akbarshah thana under
Digital Security Act (Security Act), he said.
Earlier, Rahat spread rumour in his facebook post against Prime Minister
and the state, he added.
Two mobile phone sets used in spreading rumour in social media were
recovered from his possession.
