Bourses turn back
DHAKA, Aug 22, 2019 (BSS) – Country’s both bourses turned back and ended today’s sessions with green.
In the capital bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the core index, closed at 5,236.85 points with a gain of 13.43 points. Besides, the two selective indices – DSES and DS30- were also up at 1206.84 by 2.35 points and 1850.01 by 8.34 points respectively.
The market turnover, however, decreased by 12 percent and stood at Taka 4.8 billion by the end of the session.
A total number of 129,554 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 165.41 million securities. At DSE, 159 securities gained price, 144 declined and 49 remained unchanged.
The top ten gainers were Beximco, RN Spinning, Generation Next, Family Tex, National Polymar, International Leasing, Premier Leasing, Renwick Jajneswar, Dhaka Insurance and FAS Finance.
United power topped the turnover list followed by Beximco limited, National Tubes, Fortune Shoes, Orion Infume, BSC, Khulna Power, JMI Syringe, Monno Ceramics and Silco Pharmaceutical.
The top ten losers were SEML FBSL Growth Fund, Hakkani Pulp, Golden Son, Libra Infusion, Central Pharma, LR Global, ICB Sonali First Mutual Fund, BIFC, Saiham Textile and PHP Mutual Fund.
According to market operator, EBL Securities, Investors’ exerted buying pressure on sector specific stocks especially from Fuel and Power, Pharma & Chemicals and Miscellaneous sectors.
Sector wise performance exposed that Services and Real Estate (2.1%), Miscellaneous (1.5%) and Fuel and Power (1.2%) sector experienced highest price appreciation while Telecommunication (-1.1%), Travel and Leisure (-0.9%) and Paper and Printing (-0.8%) sector experienced highest price correction in today’s session.
Investors’ attention was mostly concentrated on Fuel and Power (15.8%), Engineering (15.3%) and Pharma and Chemicals (14.9%) sectors.
The port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed in green zone today. CSCX increased by 36.4 points & CASPI increased by 62.2 points.
