SHARIATPUR, Aug 22, 2019 (BSS) – Financial assistance cheques under the Humanitarian Assistance programe of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were distributed among 135 families in Naria Upazila of the district today.
Deputy Minister for Water Resources ministry AKM Enamul Haque Shamim distributed the assistance cheques and CI sheets (tin) among the riverbank erosion hit people in the Upazila.
A simple function on the occasion was held in Naria this morning. Deputy Commissioner of Shariatpur Kazi Abu Taher chaired the function while Iqbal Hossain Apu, MP, and Zila Parishad Chairman Chabedur Rahman Khoka Sikder took part the function as especial guests.
Naria Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jyonti Rupa Rao, general secretary of district AL Anol Kumar Dey, Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Ismail Haque, Upazila AL president Md Hassan Ali Radi and Mayor of Naria municipality Shohidul Islam Babu Radi were present the function.
Earlier the minister took part in a function organized by Upazila AL on National Mourning Day in Naria.
