DHAKA, Aug 18, 2019 (BSS) – Airport Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) members today detained one person with 10 thousand yaba tablets at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Confirming the report, AAPBn additional superintendant (operations and media) Alamgir Hossain said Jasim Uddin, 36, was detained from outside the domestic terminal of the airport.
“Members of AAPBn detained Jasim from the area at around 1 pm as he was walking there suspiciously. As we interrogated him, he confessed carrying the drugs. Later we recovered the yaba tablets hidden inside his belt,” the AAPBn official said.
It was learned that Jasim Uddin reached here from Cox’s Bazar by Novoair flight- VQ 934 at around 12.45pm. He is the son of Nur Ahmed of village Gouj Ghona Palongkhali under Ukhia Police Station of Cox’s Bazar.
The estimated cost of the seized yaba tablets is Taka 50 lakh. Filing of case on this regard is underway.
