Archery team to take part World Archery Youth championship

DHAKA, Aug 17, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh archery team will take part in the World Archery Youth championship scheduled to be held in Madrid from August 19-25.

An eight members of Bangladesh archery team comprising five of boys and three of girls due to leave for Spain this evening to participate in the championship.

Bangladesh will compete in the junior and cadet category of the championship.

The boys archery team will compete in the recurve junior boys singles team event, recurve cadet boys singles, recurve cadet girls’ singles and mixed team event, and compound junior boys singles event.

The qualification round of the championship will be held on Tuesday (August 20) following the inaugural ceremony of the championship on Monday (August 19).

City Group is the main sponsor of the team while the expenditure of the team will be meet from the allotted funds from Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan, Bangladesh Army and Youth and Sports Ministry.

Archery team: Hakim Ahmed Rubel (recurve junior boys’), Taminul Islam (recurve junior boys’), Sakib Mollah(recurve junior boys’), Mehnaz Akter Monira (recurve junior girls’), Aisharjo Rahman (recurve junior boys’), Prodipto Chakma (recurve cadet boys’), Mosammat Eti Khatun (recurve cadet girls’) and Diya Siddique (recurve cadet girls’).

Officials: Rashidul Islam (team leader), Roshiduzzaman Seraniyabat (team manager), Martin Fredric (head coach) and Ziaul Haque (coach).
