NARSINGDI, Aug 17, 2019 (BSS) – At least four people were killed and four
others injured in a collision between a bus and a private car in front of
Kararchar Madina Jute Mills area on Dhaka-Sylhet highway under Shibpur
upazila of the district early hours today.
The deceased were identified as Akib, 27, Jannatul, 25, Sadia Akhter, 26,
and driver of the private car Imran, 32. All of them were passengers of the
private car.
Shofiqul Islam, Deputy Assistant Director of Narsingdi Fire Service, said
the accident occurred in the area when a Sylhet-bound bus of Shyamoli
Paribahan collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound private car from the opposite
direction around 3am, leaving three people dead on the spot and five others
injured.
Being informed, Narsingdi Fire Service and Civil Defense personnel rushed
to the spot and rescued the injured and sent them to Narsingdi Zila Hospital,
where critically injured Akib succumbed to his injuries at the hospital,
sources said.
