Anti-liberation forces assassinated Bangabandhu: Tipu Munshi

RANGPUR, Aug 16, 2019 (BSS) – Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi has said the
anti-liberation forces who did not want independence, have brutally
assassinated Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to
reverse independence.

“Escaping death fortunately by the grace of Almighty Allah, incumbent
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build a ‘Sonar
Bangla’ to fulfill her father’s dream taking Bangladesh to a newer height
today proving that we can also do,” he said.

The minister said this at a discussion arranged in observance of the
National Mourning Day-2019 and 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Beer Muktijoddha Tipu Munshi
auditorium in Kawnia upazila here on Thursday as the chief guest.

Tipu Munshi said Sheikh Hasina knows such a magic that has turned
Bangladesh into a role model of development all over the world. She is
working to improve the fate of the country people.

“We have to take oath of transforming mourning into energy at this 44th
martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu and work unitedly for building an
exploitation-free, developed and secular ‘Sonar Bangla’ to realize his
dream,” he said.

“We have to become golden and educated people and root out corruption from
the society to build the developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu to
make independence meaningful for every citizen,” he added.

With Kawnia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ulfat Ara Begum in the chair, Upazila
Chairman Anwarul Islam Maya and Vice-chairmen Abdur Razzaque and Angura
Begum, freedom fighter Sarder Abdul Hakim, Principal Musa Ahmed and local AL
leaders addressed the discussion.

Kawnia upazila administration chalked out programmes in observance of the
National Mourning Day-2019 and 44th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the
Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the upazila town.

The programmes included hoisting of the national flag at half-mast and
black flags, wearing black badges, mourning rally, placing wreaths at the
portrait of Bangabandhu, offering munajats, drawing and essay writing
competitions and distribution of prizes.
