Two killed in road accident in Tangail

TANGAIL, Aug 16, 2019 (BSS) – Two persons were killed and three others
injured in separate road accidents in Bhuiyanpur and Nagarpur upazilas of the district today.

Police said an auto rickshaw passenger named as Abdul Mannan, 62, of
Sarishabari of Jamalpur district died in head-on collision between their
transport and a microbus at Bhuiyanpur this afternoon.

Daughter of Mannan and his son-in-law and driver of the auto-rickshaw
received critical injuries in the accident. They were admitted to Tangail
General Hospital.

Another accident happened on the west side of Noyai bridge at Bekara Union
of Nagarpur Union in which an elderly person namely Abdul Kuddus Mia died.

Police said an auto-rickshaw knocked down Abdul Kuddus Mia, felling him on
the ground. Local people rescued him and sent him to Tangail Sadar Hospital
where attending doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, local people found the body of a child- Rabeya, 5, who remained
missing since Wednesday last after falling into the Jamuna River during
family photography.

Body of Rabeya was found floating at Langrabazar area of Nikrail union
this morning. Rabeya, daughter of Ershad Ali of Ashrayan village of
Bhuiyanpur Upazila came out there for recreation marking the Eid-ul-Azha,
police said.

Fire service workers conducted search after the incident but found no
trace of her or 41 hours.

In a separate incident a person died at Mirzapur in snake biting. The
person was identified as Sagar Mia, 40 of Bhadgram union.

Local people said, Sagar Mia caught a snake from a house on Thursday noon.
The snake bit him at the time of pouring it into the sack.

Sagar, died at Kumudini Hospital on Thursday evening.
