1,046 Eid Jamaats in Khulna
KHULNA, Aug 10, 2019 (BSS) – Around 1,046 Eid Jamaats (congregations) are
scheduled to be held this year at the traditional and temporary venues in the
city and district under the supervision of Khulna District Administration
(KDA) and the Khulna City Corporation (KCC) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Local administration, KCC and KDA sources said preparations to construct
and decorate of Eid Jamaat venues has started in the city under the auspices
of Khulna district administration, Khulna City Corporation, Khulna
Metropolitan Police (KMP) and other religious organisations for peaceful
celebration of the festival with due solemnity and religious fervor.
KCC has finalized to hold a total of 184 Eid congregations at different
venues in the city while KDA decided to arrange 862 Eid congregations at
different places in nine upazilas of the district.
The decision was taken in a co-ordination meeting recently held at KCC
auditorium. According to the decision, all the Eid congregations will be held
between 7 am to 9 am.
The main Eid congregation will be held at Khulna Circuit House ground in
the city at 8 am and Khatib of Town Jame Mosque Moulana Md Abu Saleh will
conduct the prayers. But, in case of inclement weather, two jamaat will be
held at 8 am and 9 am at Town jame mosque respectively.
The other main Eid Jamaats will be held at different venues including Town
Jame Mosque, Baitun Nur Jame Mosque, Islamabad Eidgah, Baitul Aman Jame
Mosque, Iqbalnagar Jame Mosque, Daulatpur and Khalishpur Eidgah between 7 am
to 9 am.
Besides, KCC will also arrange the Eid congregations at all mosques in its
31 Wards under the supervision of concerned Ward Councilors.
