DHAKA, Aug 6, 2019 (BSS) – Fifty new intensive care unit (ICU) beds will be set up at Dhaka Medical College Hospital(DMCH) to cope with the onrush of dengue patients.
The Directorate General of Health Services took the decision at a meeting held at Diseases Monitoring Arm of Health Directorate, the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) at Mohakhali in the city, said a press release.
Director General (DG) for Health Services Professor Abul Kalam Azad, IEDCR Director Sania Tahmina, Management Information System (MIS), Director Dr Samir Kanti Sarkar, Line Director of Hospital Service Management Dr Shayttakam Chakrabarty, Deputy Programe Manager National Malaria Elimination and Aedes Transmitted Disease Control Programme Dr MM Akhtaruzzaman were present, among others.
They have also taken a decision to ensure sufficient manpower and logistic support to run the Community Clinics during Eid holidays.
Besides, help desk would be opened at public and private hospitals during the upcoming holidays.
The meeting also decided to SMS a guidance to home-bound people.
