RADP implementation reaches 94.36% with Tk 1,66,654cr in FY19

DHAKA, Aug 6, 2019 (BSS) – The implementation rate of the Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) in the last fiscal year (FY19) reached 94.36 percent with a record spending of Taka 1,66,654 crore playing a vital role in minimising the gap of investment in the country’s infrastructure and other sectors.

“The RADP implementation rate reaches 94.36 percent in the last fiscal year (FY19) with Taka 1,66,654 crore up from 94.11 percent recorded in FY18 with an expenditure of Taka 1,48,306 crore,” said Planning Minister MA Mannan.

The planning minister disclosed this data after holding a meeting with the secretaries of various ministries and divisions on the progress of development projects held at the NEC Conference Room in the city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

General Economics Division (GED) Member of the Planning Commission Dr Shamsul Alam and Planning Division Secretary Md Nurul Amin were present at the briefing.

Mannan said the RADP implementation rate in the last fiscal year fared better over the last five fiscal years as it was 89.76 percent in FY17, 92.72 percent in FY16 and 91.40 percent in FY15.

Out of total RADP expenditure of Taka 1,66,654 crore in the last fiscal year, he said the executing agencies could utilise 95.75 percent of the domestic sources with Taka 1,11,066 crore, 92.76 percent of the foreign sources were utilised in last fiscal amounting Taka 74,306 crore while 86.09 percent of the organisation’s own fund was utilised during this period with Taka 8,282 crore.

Analyzing the data compiled by the IMED, it was found that the ministry of housing and public works attained the highest implementation rate of 101.13 percent with an expenditure of Taka 5,998.79 crore followed by the ministry of science and technology with 100.02 percent with Taka 11,902.40 crore, road transport and bridges division with 99.77 percent spending Taka 19,756.88 crore, the ministry of shipping with 99.70 percent with Taka 4,802.16 crore, the ministry of industries notching 99.26 percent with Taka 1,079.29 crore, secondary and higher education division with 99.20 percent with Taka 6,112.35 crore, IMED gaining 98.80 percent with Taka 103.27 crore while the ministry of defense attaining 98.75 percent with Taka 1,310.88 crore.

Answering to a question, the planning minister said the government expects to attain cent percent implementation rate in the current fiscal year. “We’ll stick to that, Insha Allah,” he said.

The allocation against the RADP in the last fiscal year was Taka 1,76,619.71 crore including Taka 1,24,959.71 crore from the domestic sources while the rest of Taka 51,660 crore from the foreign sources.
