Two alleged drug peddlers died in gunfight with BGB

COX’s Bazar, Aug 5, 2019 (BSS)- Two alleged drug peddlers died in a gunfight with members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Moulavibazar of Hnila union of Teknaj upazila here today.

Commander of BGB 2 battalion of Teknaf Lt. Col. Foysal Khan said the drug peddlers were identified as Delwar Hossain Dilu, 30, and Nurul Islam, 27.

Dilu is the son of Jalil Ahmed of nayabazar area of Hoyaikong union while Nurul Islam is a Rohingya living in block-2 of Kutuplang camp.

BGB commander said they have seized twenty thousand pieces of yaba, two homemade arms with four rounds of cartridges and two long machetes from their possession.

Four BGB officials sustained injuries during the clash with the drug traders, the sources said.
