Govt taking all necessary measures to prevent dengue: Maleque

MANIKGANJ, Aug 5, 2019 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare minister Zahid Maleque today said the government has taken all necessary measures for stopping spread of dengue disease in the country.

All government machineries are working together to control the mosquito-borne disease, he told journalists while visiting dengue patients at Manikganj Sadar hospital.

Maleque said, “All levels of people should be aware of taking preventive measures on dengue disease as the holidaymakers are going to their village home for celebrating Eid-ul-Azha.”

Referring to different government measures, he said, “A total of 4,00,000 dengue detection kites were imported and now these kits are available in all hospitals in the country.

S M Ferdous, Deputy Commissioner, Manikganj, Rifat Rahman Shamim, SP, and Dr. Anwarul Huque Akanda, Civil Surgeon, among others, were present on the occasion.

The Health Minister urged all officials concerned to remain alert for
dealing with dengue disease properly to avert any catastrophic situation.

Later, the minister distributed rice among the VGF card holders in Saturia
and Manikganj Sadar upazilas.
