1200 flood victims get relief from AL in Sundarganj
GAIBANDHA, Aug 05, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 1200 flood victims of four unions under Sundarganj upazila here got dry food as relief from Relief and Social Welfare Sub-Committee of Bangladesh Awami League yesterday.
Bangladesh Awami League, Sundarganj upazila unit, arranged the relief distribution program at Kasim Bazaar under Kapasia union of the upazila Sunday afternoon.
General Secretary of district unit of Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique, Convener of upazila Awami League ATM Mokbul Hossain Pramanik and local leaders were present.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion the Awami League leaders said they would always remain beside flood affected people to mitigate their sufferings.
The government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was beside the flood victims in the past and would remain beside them in future, they said.
The government has already started post-flood rehabilitation programs in the area, they said.
