DHAKA, Aug 04, 2019 (BSS) – Eid holidays for the workers of readymade garment (RMG) will be given in phases from August 11 in different areas.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has decided to provide Eid holidays on 11-17 August for Gazipur areas while 11-18 August for Ashulia, Savar, Hemayetpur and Manikganj areas, said Labour and Employment Secretary (In Charge) K M Ali Azam after a meeting of the Core Committee of Crisis Management Affairs at the ministry conference room.
He said the meeting also decided to request Bangladesh Bank to remain open branches of different commercial banks on August 9 and 10 in industrial areas.
Azam urged the factory owners to pay the bonus and salary to the labourers before the Eid-Ul-Azha.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, MP chaired the meeting.
She hoped the Eid would be celebrated in a peaceful manner with the cooperation of all.
