RU launches cleanliness drive to check dengue

RAJSHAHI, Aug 4, 2019 (BSS) – Rajshahi University (RU) authorities today launched a massive cleanliness drive in the campus to check dengue outbreak.

Vice-chancellor (In-Charge) Prof Chowdhury Jakaria accompanied by his office colleagues and others concerned inaugurated the campaign through a brief meeting in front of the administrative building.

The RU VC asked all his office colleagues and others concerned to keep
their respective office and office premises clean. “We should always keep our
respective catchment areas neat and clean,” Prof Jakaria said.

He said through this campaign, the campus dwellers will be motivated and
inspired to make their respective surrounding areas clean and destroy the
mosquito breeding places within the campus.

RU Chief Medical Officer Dr Tabibur Rahman Sheikh highlighted the
importance of cleanliness to prevent the deadly mosquito-borne disease.

Among others, Pro-Vice-chancellor Professor Ananda Kumar Shaha, Treasurer
Prof Mustafizur Rahman Al Arif, Registrar Prof Abdul Bari, Students Adviser
Prof Laila Arjuman Banu and Proctor Prof Luffor Rahman, were present on the
occasion.
