600 dengue detection kits distributed on behalf of Mashrafe

NARAIL, Aug 2, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 600 dengue detection kits were distributed to two hospitals in the district today on behalf of Bangladesh ODI cricket captain and local parliament member Mashrafe Bin Mortaza.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anjuman Ara handed over the kits to the authorities of the two hospitals in the conference of her office this afternoon. Civil Surgeon Dr Asad-uz-Jaman Munshi received the kits for Lohagora upazila health complex, while residential medical officer Dr Mashiur Rahman Babu received for Sadar Hospital.

Superintendent of Police Md Jashim Uddin, Civil Surgeon Dr Asaduzzaman Toni, local Pourasabha Mayor Md Jahangir Biswas and physicians, among others, were present on the occasion.

Extending thanks to Mashrafe, the Narail DC said, “We’ll have to work together for destroying breeding grounds of mosquito to make the Narail district dengue disease free.”

Jashim Uddin said the members of the police are ready for extending all sorts of cooperation for stopping spread of the dengue as the mosquito-borne disease has taken an alarming turn in the country.

Dr Mashiur said, “We were facing problems to detect dengue disease due to shortage of kits … Now we can perform our duties properly to detect dengue disease through these kits.”

Mortuza earlier announced to provide dengue detection kits for the patients of his locality.

He urged the people of Narail district to keep clean inside and outside of their houses alongside destroying breeding grounds of mosquito to protect the human health from the menace of the disease.

“We all should create mass awareness about the dengue disease so that people can take preventive measure for checking the disease, ” he said in a statement.
