Sheikh Jamal DC held by NoFel in BPL

DHAKA, Aug 1, 2019 (BSS)- NoFeL Sporting Club came from behind to force
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to play a 2-2 goal draw in a match of Bangladesh
Premier League (BPL) football on Thursday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

In the day’s match, foreign recruit Emil Sambou put Sheikh Jamal ahead in
the 15th minute and after the lemon break he doubled the lead scoring the
second goal for his team in the 51st minute of the match.

Khandakar Ashraful however pulled one back for NoFeL in the 56th minute
while Ismail Bangoura brought NoFeL in the match, scoring the second goal in
the 85th minute of the match.

With the day’s feat, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, currently standing at
sixth position, finished the league with 28 points from 24 matches while
NoFeL Sporting Club remained at 12th position with 20 points from the same
number of matches.

While Saif Sporting Club finished the league campaign with a 3-1 goal
victory over Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra held at Rafiq Uddin
Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. In the day’s proceeding, Jamal, Faysal and
Sajjad scored one goal each for the winners in the 19th, 87th and 89th
minutes respectively while foreign recruit Kato netted the lone goal for
Muktis in the 25th minute converting a spot kick in the 25th minute of the
match.

The day’s win saw Saif Sporting Club finish at fourth position in the
league table with 47 points from 24 matches while the freedom fighters
Muktijoddha remained at their previous credit of 26 points playing the same
number of matches.

Meanwhile, Brothers Union Club will square off Arambagh Krira Sangha at
Bangabandhu National Stadium while Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra meet Team
Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation at Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet in
their respective last league matches scheduled to be held tomorrow (Friday)
at 7 pm.
