DHAKA, Aug 1, 2019 (BSS) – National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the time limit for online registration of Value Added Tax (VAT) to August 14.
Syed Mushfiqur Rahman, Director of VAT Online Project, told BSS today that NBR extended the time limit by 14 days for the sake of the conveniences of businessmen, as the deadline ended on July 31.
He hoped that all the taxpayers would complete the registration within the extended period.
NBR in a notification asked the taxpayers, who have already registered themselves online with 9 digit numbers, to update their information by filling up VAT-2.1 form.
Besides, those are yet to receive the new numbers instead of continuing to use the old 11 digit numbers have been directed to complete the online registration immediately.
On the other hand, the applications filed till July 7 were not accepted due to system up-gradation. They were asked to apply again.
The implementation of VAT and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012 started on July 1.
