3 die inhaling poisonous gas in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, July 31, 2019 (BSS) – Three workers died and six others
became sick after inhaling poisonous gas from a gas leaked at a ship breaking
yard in Sitalpur of Sitakunda upazila here today.
The victims were Nantu Bepari, 24, son of Amjad Bepari, Mohammad Rusel
alias Masud, 25, son of Jafar Matabbar both hailed from Pirojpur, and
Mohammad Sobidul Hossain, 26, son of Abu Talebor hailed from Kurigram.
The workers met the tragic incident while working in a ship — MV Atlas
— at a ship breaking yard of Mak Corporation.
Sub-Inspector Johirul Islam, in-charge of Chattogram Medical College and
Hospital (CMCH) police outpost, confirmed the incident.
Later, they were taken to CMCH where three of them died, he said.
