Govt to develop 34,000 IT-based schools: Palak

NATORE, July 30, 2019 (BSS) – The government has taken initiatives to
develop 34,000 technology-based high schools across the country following the
education system of Finland.

“All the developed country in the world have ensured their progress
establishing technology-based education system…We also have taken an
initiative to establish technology based education at 34,000 high schools
following the education system of Finland,” said IT and Telecommunication
State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Khan Palak.

He was speaking at a laptop distribution programme under the ‘One Student
One Laptop’ campaign at Natore Deputy Commissioner’s conference room here.

“We can present a bright generation to the country, if we implement the
technology based education system,” said the State Minister.

The pilot project “Digital Municipality Service System” under the Korea
International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has been successfully implemented at
10 municipalities including two in Natore, he said, adding, more 329
municipalities would be taken under the project.

First phase of training activities concluded at country’s first ‘Sheikh
Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center’ at Natore, he said, adding the
process of establishing such centrrs would be taken for other 63 districts,
said Palak.

Deputy Commissioner of Natore M Shahriaj was present at the programme.
