All civic facilities will become available at villages

RANGPUR, July 30, 2019 (BSS) – The present government is implementing the
mega project titled “My Village, My Town” aiming at equipping every village
with modern civic facilities like a city on way to build a developed
Bangladesh.

The information was disclosed at a preparatory meeting held at Sadar
upazila parishad auditorium on Monday afternoon for implementation of the “My
Village, My Town” project in Rangpur Sadar upazila of the district.

The Cabinet Division, Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Division and a2i Programme of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) organised the
event participated by upazila level government officials and public
representatives of Rangpur Sadar upazila.

Joint Secretary to the a2i Programme of the PMO Md. Abdus Sabur Mondal
attended the meeting as the chief guest with Rangpur Sadar upazila parishad
Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby in the chair.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ishraat Sadiya Sumi, Assistant Commissioner
(Land) Chhanda Paul, Upazila Vice-chairmen Mahbubar Rahman Milan and Kajoli
Begum, Chairmen Amenur Rahman of Chandanpat union and Masud Rana of
Saddyapuskorini union, among others, addressed.

The chief guest discussed various aspects of the “My Village, My Town”
project that would be implemented utilising the digitised ICT facilities,
innovations of the a2i programme, skills of the filed level officials and all
concerned.

“The pilot programme of the “My Village, My Town” project is being
implemented in eight unions of eight upazilas, one in each of these eight
upazilas of eight divisions across the country,” he said.

Of them, the “My Village, My Town” project is being implemented in
Saddyapuskorini union of Rangpur Sadar upazila in the district, he added.

He called upon upazila level government officials, entrepreneurs of union
digital centres, union parishad chairmen, members and secretaries for further
enhancing their innovative skills in ICT for proper implementation of the
project.
