Nasim for opening central control room over mosquito killing
DHAKA, July 29, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League Presidium member Mohammed Nasim today called upon the LGRD and health ministers and two Dhaka city mayors to open a central control room to monitor mosquito killing campaign continuously in a coordinated way.
“Effective steps should be taken immediately to destroy breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes,” he told a discussion organized by Gano Azadi League on ‘dengue, social degradation and rumors’ in Jatiya Press Club auditorium here.
Nasim, also 14-party alliance spokesperson, urged the leaders and workers of the alliance and Awami league along with ward councilors of the two city corporations to join the cleanliness campaign to destroy the breeding grounds of mosquitoes.
He said if the mosquito killing activities are monitored through a central control room, the situation of dengue outbreak would take a normal turn within two weeks.
Nasim said Awami League is a pro-people party as it works for the betterment of people.
He urged BNP to cooperate with the government in controlling dengue and flood keeping the party away from doing politics over the issues.
The AL leader said spreading of rumors has now been stopped to a large extent. He thanked the home minister in this regard.
Gano Azadi League President SK Shikder chaired the discussion while Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Ministry Shamsul Haque Tuku, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, Gonotantri Party General Secretary Dr Shahadat Hossain, Jatiya Party Presidium member Ezaz Ahmed Mukta, Dhaka City South AL General Secretary Shahe Alam Murad and Gano Azadi League General Secretary Ataullah Khan Ata, among others, addressed on the occasion.
