DHAKA, July 29, 2019 (BSS)- Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal
number three as squally weather is likely to affect maritime ports, North Bay
and adjoining coastal areas due to influence of steep pressure gradient that
persists over North Bay.

“Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and
adjoining area due to influence of steep pressure gradient that persists over
North Bay. So, the maritime ports are advised to keep hoisted local
cautionary signal number three,” said a met office weather bulletin here
today.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain
close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajsthan, Horiyana, Uttar Pradesh,
Bihar, Centre of the low, thence northeastwards to Assam across northwestern
part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North
Bay.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet and
Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka
and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over
the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
