Two Badda lynching accused sent to jail

DHAKA, July 28, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent two accused in North Badda lynching case to jail after end of their four-day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury sent Kamal Hossain and Abul Kalam Azad to jail as police produced the duo before court and pleaded to keep them behind bars till the end of investigation in the case.

They were placed on four-day remand on July 23.

Earlier on July 27, another court sent three accused Bachchu Miah, Shahin and Bappi in North Badda lynching case to jail after end of their four-day remand.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dhiman Chandra Mandal sent them to jail as investigation officer and Badda Police Station inspector (investigation) Abdur Razzaq produced the trio before court today.

The same court on July 22 placed them on four-day remand in the case.

Taslima Begum Renu, 40, a single-mother of two, was brutally beaten to death by a mob in suspicion of being a child lifter, in front of North Badda Government Primary School on the morning of July 20.

It was later learned that Renu went there to take information regarding admission of her daughter Tahsin Tuba, 4, at that school.

Nasir Uddin, nephew of Renu, filed the case with Badda Police Station against 400-500 unidentified people.
