Online services available to ease trade: Tipu

DHAKA, July 25, 2019 (BSS) – Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi today said the government has made different online services available for expansion of trade.

“Businessmen are being offered different types of services digitally for expanding trade, but intellectual skills have to be utilized to cope up with the competitive world trade,” he added.

The minister was addressing the Annual General Meeting of International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) in a city hotel as chief guest.

Tipu Munhsi said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had said the government would open the door for trade, and Bangladesh would take necessary measures to ease local and international trade.

“As per the announcement of the Prime Minister, all offices under the ministry of commerce have been digitized,” he added.

Tipu said the government is business friendly and that is why Bangladesh surpassed the export earnings target in the last fiscal to reach $ 40.53 billion and the growth was 10.55 percent.

He hoped the export earnings would stand at $ 60 billion in 2021.

With IBFB President Humayun Rashid in the chair, FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim also spoke on the occasion. Policy Research Institute’s research director Dr M A Razzak made keynote presentation.
