5 more people arrested in connection with lynching of Renu
DHAKA, July 25, 2019 (BSS) – Five more people were arrested from different
parts of the capital in connection with the lynching of Taslima Begum Renu in
Badda recently.
They were identified as Murad Miah (22), Mohammad Billal (28), Sohel Rana
(30) and Mohammad Raju (23) Asadul Islam (22).
Officer-in-charge of Badda Police Station Rafiqul Islam said they conducted
operations in different areas Wednesday night and arrested five people in
connection with lynching of Taslima Begum. They were identified from video
footages, he added.
With the five people, police so far arrested 12 in this connection.
Taslima Begum Renu was beaten to death on July 20 at North Badda over child
abduction rumour. A case was filed against 400-500 unidentified people for
their alleged involvement in the murder.
