Combined efforts will expedite development: Nasrul

DHAKA, July 25, 2019 (BSS) State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said combined efforts would expedite the country’s development.

“Combined efforts will expedite Bangladesh’s development as the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is on the highway of development,” he said at a meeting on Annual Performance Agreement (APA) implementation as the chief guest at Bidyut Bhaban.

Nasrul said, “Energy security has ensured the development activities of the country and now there is no shortfall of fuel, no demonstration for power, and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) mitigates gas demand,” he said.

The state minister said automation system is necessary for successful implementation of APA, adding, “Importance would be given on implementing APA through automation of power transmission and distribution, establishment of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), installation of prepaid metres and disposal of client allegations.”

The power and energy ministry has taken an initiative to introduce a new e-service in collaboration with a2i in this regard, Nasrul added.

Chaired by power division secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, the programme was also addressed, among others, by cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam and energy secretary Abu Heena M Rahmatul Munim.
