There is no possibility of severe flood by mid-August in country
DHAKA, July 24, 2019 (BSS) – There is no possibility of severe flood by
mid-August in the country, according to flood outlook of Bangladesh
Meteorological Department (BMD) and European Union Metrological Department.
North and north-eastern region in the country may face flood, if the
country witnesses heavy rainfall, the flood outlook added.
Water levels of all major rivers are decreasing; the flood forecast said
adding, “As some regions experienced flood above normal, major rivers at many
points are flowing above danger level.”
Northern, northeastern and south-eastern regions in the country were badly
affected by flood since second week to third week due to heavy rainfall in
four river basins and vast areas in upstream region of India.
Flood situation has started improving across the country from the third
week of this month due to less rainfall.
